Directional drilling, also known as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), is a trenchless method of installing underground utilities without digging a continuous trench. Instead, a small pilot hole is drilled underground and enlarged to safely install pipe or conduit. This process minimizes disruption to roads, landscaping, driveways, and existing infrastructure while providing a faster, cleaner installation.
